LOCKDOWN MOBILE - JAN 2021

This is a fully modelled 3D scene!

When the third lockdown was announced in the England, I was initially upset (but I knew that it was inevitable and that it was necessary) but then I thought about how unique this time is that we are living in. As frustrating as it is, we are living in a moment of history that children in generations to come will be taught about.

I wanted to capture part of this moment and thought the best way to do this is through modelling. I also wanted to do some more modelling work as although I got taught it on my course, I didn't fully focus on it and appreciate the skills I had learned until the end of my course. Therefore, I wanted to do some modelling work to test make sure I was still testing myself by modelling things I had never done before.

I decided to create this particular scene as I imagined the setting was a university student's bedroom who had been separated from her family for several months due to the pandemic and wanted to reflect that the pandemic will be under control one day, even if it's not today, it will be controlled.

I modelled this scene in Maya and added the content on the mobile screen in Nuke by using a constant, text and corner pins to make sure the screen was aligned with the mobile.
